About the Farm

Mistwood Acres is a budding farm from two young farmers. We are a new small local farm focusing on sustainability and providing low carbon emission food to the area. We focus on animals that provide for us, and also giving them the best life as they give us so much as well. All of our animals are free range during the day, with ample space at night in areas that are locked up for safety. All of our meat is raised in pasture/wood amongst other animals. Larger cuts of meat (cows, pigs, goats, sheep) are butchered at a local halal place

Cindy Perez González

A native Spanish speaker raised in Spain and of Cuban descent. She has had extensive experience in the teaching world and plans to expand that onto the farm by creating dynamic and creative programs. Currently, in grad school for clinical counseling at UNC, she has a vision of resting a therapeutic farm for victims of intimate partner violence and at-risk youth. She currently working on implementing and training for an equine facilitated facility for mental health.

We are planning on expanding our community outreach and offering different events locally to move these projects forward.
